What is Spot Color?
Full color printing, also known as 4-color printing, which utilizes the Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and Black (CMYK) inks to produce an infinite variety of colors (as in color photographs). Spot color printing use inks formulated for a specific color. PMS-185, for instance, is a specific red. This is similiar to the way you purchase wall paint in that exact shade that's just right for your living room decor. Spot color printing ensures that the blue in your logo will be exactly the same every time it's printed, a guarantee full color printing can never make.
What is Raised Letter?
Raised letter printing, also know as thermography, uses a special chemical which, when heated by the printer, expands to produce a three-diminsional texture which simulates gravure (engraved) printing. Because of it's low cost, wide variety of ink color and paper selection, raised letter business cards have been extremely popular in business for many, many years.
